Abia State Government Plan To Promote Made-In-Aba Products (Read Full Story)

In a bid to market and popularize Made-In-Aba products which includes shoes, belts, wears, bags and other leather products, the Abia State Government says it plans to set up an international marketing outlets abroad to attract international interest for Made-In-Aba products.
The marketing outlets would be located in countries such as the United States, Japan, China, Egypt, amongst​ others.
The outlets, according to the Government would be stocked with Made-In-Aba products ranging from shoes, booths, belts, wears, leather bags and other leather products being manufactured in Aba community.
The Director-General of Okezuo Abia Organization, Elder John Nwangborogwu pictured above, who disclosed this in Aba North Local Government Area during a sensitization visit to the Council area by the group, explained that it was part of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s programme to put Made-In-Aba products on the global stage.
Nwangborogwu urged the people to continue to support the administration of Ikpeazu, assuring them that he means well for the State.
He said that the Governor was committed to local contents and capacity development of the Aba business community as an avenue of increasing the State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) through the sales of Made-In-Aba goods locally, nationally and internationally.
“In this time of recession, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is unrelenting in finding alternative means of increasing the State’s Internally Generated Revenue, of which he has discovered the socio-economic potentiality of Aba and is ever determined to explore it to its fullest,” he noted.
He announced that his organization would organize a mini-empowerment programme that will touch directly on lives of members of the organization and the society at large to improve  living standards.
