City’s march at the top of the Premier League continued during the week. Southampton looked to be on their way to securing a point, only for Raheem Sterling to score a last-minute winner to extend City’s winning run to 19 matches in all competitions. Pep Guardiola’s men hold a five-point lead at the top of the table, but has extended their lead to eight points.
West Ham really been under severe pressure in the bottom three in the Premier League. The Hammers are without a win all through their last seven games following their drubbing at the hands of Everton during the week. It was not a happy return to Goodison Park for David Moyes as his side lost 4-0 in frustrating circumstances, with Manuel Lanzini missing a penalty in the second half that could have turned the game in their favour. With a horrendous run of fixtures ahead, Moyes’ side would’ve used a surprise result earlier this afternoon.
