How to check if your SIM card is fully registered to avoid disconnection

Following the Federal Government of Nigeria’s directive to NCC and mobile service providers across the country to go ahead with deactivation of approximately 9.2Million users who are yet to provide all necessary details at the point Sim registration.

To avoid going through the stress of getting any of your SIM cards blocked, you can simply check if your SIM card is properly registered so as to avoid any complications with the SIM blockage. Below are steps on how to check if your SIM card is properly registered on MTN, Airtel, 9mobile or Glo network.

How to check if your SIM card is fully registered


To check the status of your Sim Card registration with any of the four (4) major mobile network service providers in Nigeria; just dial the codes listed below according to the network you are subscribed to.

  1. MTN users should dial *789*1#;
  2. Airtel users are to dial *746#;
  3. 9mobile users should dial 746 or 200; and
  4. Finally, Glo users should dial 746 or 3456

Kindly note that for 9Mobile and Glo which are not USSD codes, you are to follow the voice prompt once the line connect to your service provider.

That’s all you need to know and it is better to know the status of your Sim registration before getting blocked from using your Sim card; as this could give your business a bad rating.
