MOUAU Students Stage Protest Over the Death Of A Student

The students of Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), on Monday 30th April 2018 embarked on a peaceful protest over the death of a 400 Level Agricultural Economics Student known as Obinna Chiaha (SK).

It was learnt that Obinna was knocked down by a vehicle close to the school gate.

The protesting students demanded for the removal of the Chief Security Officer of the school and immediate construction of speed bumps along the Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene Federal Road that has claimed many lives.

Their protest attracted the attention of the Vice Chancellor of the University – Prof. Francis O. Otunta who addressed the students and assured them of immediate plans to construct speed bumps on the road.
